Project introduction:The consortium of Bishop & Co. and Dicomlab Dental aims to develop a comprehensive, fully automated dental implant surgical planning module using AI and Big Data technologies, and to integrate it into Dicomlab Dental’s software service system.
As a result of the project, and based on the AI research and development activities of Bishop & Co., Dicomlab Dental’s MDR-certified medical software will be expanded with the following key features: AI-based surgical planning that enables the automatic and precise placement of implants, reducing the risk of human error. The new technology significantly improves positioning accuracy while reducing the processing time of the planning workflow below 30 seconds. In addition, our AI-based automated solution can significantly reduce the level of expertise and time required by traditional implant planning. As a result, dentists already performing implant procedures can increase the accuracy and efficiency of their treatments through AI-based surgical planning. For dentists who have not yet performed implant procedures, the AI-driven decision support system lowers the entry barrier to implant replacement procedures.
Currently, there is no fully automated AI-based planning system on the market; only partial digital solutions are available, and these still require manual intervention. The AI-based system developed by Dicomlab Dental and Bishop & Co. is unique in the field of autonomous surgical planning and real-time decision support solutions. The planned system introduces a revolutionary, standardized, data-driven approach that goes beyond simple automation, creating a complex AI-driven platform for surgical planning and execution.
The development directly contributes to the advancement of digital healthcare solutions, as well as to the innovation objectives supported by European Union funding. The project is being implemented with the support of the European Union and co-financed by the Hungarian government.
